Our Technology

We are State of the Art!

TO RECORD IMPRESSION RECORDS OF YOUR MOUTH WE TAKE A COMPUTERIZED DIGITAL SCAN RATHER THAN USING TRAYS LOADED WITH AN IMPRESSION MATERIAL. MOST PATIENTS FIND THIS TO BE A MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE OPTION. THIS ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ALSO ALLOWS US TO RECORD A COMFORTABLE JAW POSITION WITH WHICH TO BEGIN YOUR TREATMENT FOR OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA WITH AN ORAL APPLIANCE.

CBCT IMAGING - Cone Beam Computed Tomography 3-D Imaging

It is important to utilize every possible technological advantage to determine whether oral appliance therapy is appropriate for you and the best option available. We have the most sophisticated Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) which will provide us with a 3-D imaging of your airway. The time needed for a full CBCT scan is typically under 10 seconds and the radiation dosage is up to a hundred times less than that of a regular CT scanner. Although this imagery is taken while you are sitting and awake it provides an analysis of your airway’s “starting point” and basic anatomical configuration. When you sleep and are laying down your muscles do relax changing the airway structure. Because of this we will also often implement the use of Acoustic Oral Pharangometry. This diagnostic testing uses sound waves to measure your airway as it collapses in a more active and dynamic state. In combination with our Cone Beam imaging to evaluate your nasal airway capabilities, we utilize an Acoustic Rhinometer to evaluate your nasal air flow as you breath through each nostril. Finally, we document the condition of your teeth and bite with a series of intra-oral photographs and traditional dental X-rays (which may be obtained from your regular dental office).
